The Highest Yield When You Have Open Land

When roof space isn't enough — or isn't available at all — a ground-mounted array on open land delivers the highest possible yield per rupee invested. We engineer the mounting structure, row spacing and tilt angle for your specific site and soil, ideal for farms, campuses, and industrial plots with unused land.

  • Custom galvanised mounting structures
  • Optimal row spacing & tilt engineering
  • Soil & land-suitability assessment
  • Scales from 10 kW to multi-MW solar parks
  • Fencing & security options available
  • Dedicated project manager per site

Is This For You?

How Much Land Do You Need?

01

Under 1 Acre

Fits a small ground-mount system, typically 50-100 kW depending on layout.

02

1-5 Acres

Enough for a 200 kW-1 MW system — common for farms and mid-size campuses.

03

5+ Acres

Suits multi-MW solar parks, scoped and scheduled individually.

As a rule of thumb, 1 MW needs roughly 4-5 acres — exact yield depends on panel type, row spacing and site shape, confirmed during your free land assessment.

Common Questions

Ground Mounted Solar — FAQs

How much land do I need for a ground-mounted solar system?

As a rule of thumb, 1 MW of ground-mounted solar needs roughly 4-5 acres, depending on panel type and row spacing. We confirm the exact layout during a free land assessment.

Can ground-mounted solar be built on agricultural land?

Yes, subject to local land-use approvals. We also support agrivoltaic layouts (elevated panels) that let land continue to be used for select crops or grazing.

What is the typical timeline for a ground-mount project?

Small ground-mount systems (under 100 kW) typically take 3-5 weeks; multi-MW solar parks are scoped and scheduled individually after the land and grid-connectivity survey.

How is a ground-mounted system different from rooftop solar?

Ground-mounted systems use engineered structures fixed into the ground rather than a roof, which allows optimal tilt and row spacing for maximum yield, and makes it easier to scale from a few kW to multi-MW capacity. They also involve civil/foundation work and land-suitability checks that rooftop systems do not need.

What kind of maintenance does a ground-mounted plant need?

Routine maintenance includes panel cleaning, vegetation control around the array, structure and cable inspection, and monitoring of inverter/generation performance. We offer annual maintenance contracts to handle this on a scheduled basis.

Can a ground-mounted plant be connected to the grid, or used off-grid?

Both are possible — grid-connected systems can use net/gross metering to export surplus power, while off-grid or hybrid setups with battery storage suit sites with limited or unreliable grid access. We assess grid-connectivity during the land survey and recommend the right configuration.
