Sizing It Right

11kV or 33kV — Which Do You Need?

11kV Substation

Fits most commercial buildings, small-to-mid factories and housing societies drawing power directly from the local distribution network. Lower equipment cost, faster utility approval.

33kV Substation

Needed for large industrial plants, solar/wind evacuation and sites with contract demand typically above 1-2 MVA — where the utility mandates a dedicated 33kV interface.

Not sure which applies? Your sanctioned/contract demand from the utility usually decides this — share it with us and we'll confirm the right voltage class and equipment sizing.

Common Questions

Electrical Substation EPC — FAQs

Do you handle both 11kV and 33kV substation projects?

Yes — we design, install and commission both 11kV and 33kV substations, sized to your load requirement and utility approval process.

What is an RMU and when is it needed?

A Ring Main Unit (RMU) is a compact switchgear assembly used to control and protect medium-voltage distribution networks — common in industrial parks, commercial complexes and utility ring networks. We supply and install RMUs as part of substation scope.

Do you provide testing and commissioning certification?

Yes — every substation project includes full electrical testing and commissioning, with documentation handed over at project close for utility and statutory compliance.

Do you handle liaison with the electricity board for substation approvals?

Yes — we assist with the discom/utility approval process, including load sanction, drawing approval and inspection coordination, as part of the substation EPC scope.

When would we need a compact substation instead of a conventional one?

Compact, factory-assembled substations suit sites with limited space — rooftops, basements or tight industrial plots — since they arrive pre-tested and need minimal on-site civil work compared to a conventional substation.

Is ongoing maintenance available after the substation is commissioned?

Yes — we offer AMC cover for substation equipment, including transformers and HT/LT panels, with scheduled preventive maintenance and priority breakdown support after commissioning.
